I always feel a bit sad at this time of year, when Autumn clothes start appearing in the shops. I don’t feel ready for summer to be over. But I also have a bit soft spot for Autumn colours and the idea of stomping through the leaves with the kids and I start to get a little excited.

This is my first of what I’m sure will become many Autumn wish lists. As it’s still August I’ve chosen transitional pieces, that work well now, but can be layered up as it starts to get cold. Add tights and cardigans and long sleeved tops for under sleeveless dresses and these will be perfect for the colder months as well.

I have such a weakness for all things Cath Kidston. If like me you’re addicted to pretty dresses, gorgeous fun prints and classic vintage inspired styles, then its all very hard to resist. I’ve seen a few things I’ve been coveting for a while that have now gone into the sale, so I thought I’d put together a wishlist of some of my favourite pieces.

Fashion: I already have a really big thing for Cath Kidston dresses, but the seperates are gorgeous too. I’d love to wear the cardigans over original vintage dresses.

Accessories: You really can’t have too many pretty handbags and those shoes would go so well with dresses.

Since I started work on this post, even more items have been added to the sale including lots of things I’ve had my eye on for ages. You can view the entire sale on the Cath Kidston website.

I get very excited at this time of year. Saying goodbye to my boring winter wardrobe and hello to sandals and summer dresses, is just the best thing. Its also a time where I endanger the safety of my bank balance, by coveting just about everything on my favourite websites. I made the fatal error of having a good look through all the new dresses on the Collectif website today and I have to confess that I fell in love several times! Seriously though the new collection is definitely their best so far. Choosing my favourite pieces was hard, but here goes…

  1. Scenic Mountain Swing Dress – One of my favourite things about true vintage, is all the gorgeous novelty prints. The real things are so mind boggling expensive right now, that I’m more than happy to see the rise of repro novelty prints recently. The latest addition from Collectif is so pretty!
  2. Chloe Candy Gingham Swing Dress – This adorable dress, has the prettiest colours. I can’t resist gingham and the pretty combination of pink green and lilac is perfect for hot sunny days.
  3. Jade Plain Swing Dress – I absolutely love the shape of this pretty dress and the colour would look lovely in the summer. This is a great one for dressing up or down and I like the idea of wearing it with a contrasting vintage belt to create a slightly different look.
  4. Simona Flamingo Swing Dress – I know there are a LOT of flamingo prints out there at the moment. Everything gone a bit flamingo crazy, however I really do love this pretty swing dress and the print is quite subtle compared to some of the other ones out there, and therefor I love it!
  5. Jade Watermelon Swing Dress – I absolutely adore this fun and fruity dress. This is definitely one of those dresses which will invite a lot of compliments. Its so fun and absolutely adorable!
  6. Fairy Bird of Paradise Doll Dress – Every vintage girls wardrobes needs a bit of tiki in it. This pretty tropical print dress, is an absolutely lovely colour. I have a few dresses in this shape from previous collections, you can see my wearing one of them here.7. Marina Tropical Bamboo Sarong Dress  and  8. Fairy Tropical Bamboo Doll Dress

I absolutely adore fruit prints and so this gorgeous new fabric really caught my eye. It reminds me a little of my original vintage fruit print Swirl dress which you can see in this post. The design has a very authentic mid century feel to it and it’s nice to see slightly less girly colours on a repro dress.

This is by far my favourite collection from Collectif so far and there are lots of other things on the website that I want to share, but I’ll save them for another day. What’s your favourite dress from the ones I’ve included above?

As I never tire of telling you all, I’m a big fan of Lindy Bop. I adore their huge selection of vintage inspired dresses and I love the affordability. I wear their dresses on days when real vintage pieces would be too fragile (pretty much every day out with kids). I was a little bit excited and very worried about my bank balance, when I saw that they’d launched their biggest sale ever. So many of the items I’ve been coveting are now at ridiculously low prices and I have to confess I’ve already made a big order!

Lindy Bop Kelly Paradise Review
The gorgeous tropical print Kelly dress which I reviewed earlier this year is now reduced to £24.49

Lindy Bop Sale Marlene Blue Floral Dress
It’s hard to choose favourite dresses, as I like so many but I think the Ophelia (£16.09) and Marlene (£24.49) in gorgeous shades of blue would look beautiful in any wardrobe.

Lindy Bop Review Vintage Frills
All three of the dresses we reviewed this summer are now in the sale, so lovely little girls don’t need to miss out either. The Joy dress worn by me is now  £24.49 and the kid’s Audrey dresses are now just £10.49 each.

Lindy Bop Sale Marlene Banana Leaf Dress
One of the things that made it into my basket was the Malene dress (£24.49) in the banana leaf print, I’ve wanted it for ages and I can’t wait to try it on. The Tara in teal (£20.99) is the perfect dress for wearing all year round and is a real classic.

Lindy Bop Sale
I’m liking all the gorgeous shades of blue, although there are dresses in laterally every colour available in the sale. The Courtney Floral dress (£20.99) could be put away to bring out in the spring. The lovely Wedgwood blue of the polka dot Hannah dress (£20.99) really caught my eye. I love the classic cut of the dress.

There are literally hundreds of things to choose from in the sale. I picked up a few skirts and a couple of evening dresses to see me through the winter, as well as some lovely new dresses. I’ll try to post up a haul as soon as they arrive.

Check out the full range of sale items on the Lindy Bop website.

One of the things that really got me into pretty floral prints and mix matching patterns was a job I started when I was 18. It was at the new Cath Kidston shop which was opening in Wimbledon at the time. It was one of the most fun jobs I’ve ever done and I loved the company and all the gorgeous things they sold. Sadly I was only there for about a year as I left to fly off to India on an adventure, but thats another story.

My love for Cath Kidston has stayed strong and although I missed the staff discount I continued to keep buying pretty bits for my home and as my family grew and I had kids and got married and bought houses the pretty floral prints have always been there. It’s actually a bit of an addiction and I get really excited when new patterns and designs come out!

A couple of months ago I went to the Cath Kidston SS15 preview event and saw all the lovely new things that will be coming into shops this year. To me this is the most adventurous collection so far, the cloud print is far brighter and bolder than I’m used to seeing and I love it. The beacon view collection pays homage to Cath Kidston’s Cotswolds home and the farm print is adorable for both kids and grown-ups. My favourite collection of the year would have to be the ric-rac, I love this modern take on something that is very vintage.

I put together a collection of my favourite bits that are out so far…
