Nail polish is definitely one of my favourite beauty buys. You can choose any colour you like without having to match it to your skin type and tone and you can own as many as you like too. There are a few brands of nail polish that I really like, but my very favourite is Barry M. The colours are always so pretty and if I’m trying to find a polish for a particular outfit they always have one I like.
I’ve managed to build up quite a collection over the last year or two, I’ve given a few away to my daughter recently but these are all the ones I have kept. I love absolutely all of them.
Row One: Coconut, Olive, Almond, Caramel, Mocha, Chai, Blueberry, Elderberry, Meadow, Greenberry
Row Two: Prickly Pair, Limited Edition Glitter (no longer available), Marshmallow, Dragon Fruit, Grapefruit, Papaya, Mustard, Blood Orange, Crush
Most of these were bought at Boots or Superdrug, and most of the time while they were on offer, so I’ve always managed to get them for quite a good price. I also follow Barry M on Instagram so I can see when new colours are coming out.
I find them really easy to apply, they have a medium sized brush so they only take about 3 strokes to cover the nail. The colour is usually opaque in two coats, although they take a little bit longer to dry than some other brands.
I usually use both a base and topcoat with them to prevent staining and to make them last longer, I don’t have time to re-paint my nails every day! They usually last about 3-5 days on me. Although I’ve also found that the newer releases especially the Chai and the Mustard have lasted for ages without chipping so they may have improved their formula recently.
Here are a few swatches of the colours.
