On Saturday I was invited to attend a party to celebrate the launch of a new online vintage shop. Vecchio Vintage brings together a fantastic selection of retro clothing, mainly featuring 60s, 70s and 80s designs. All the stop is hand picked by Shamina Rahman who saw a gap in the market for beautiful hand picked vintage and decided to start her own business after graduating with a Fashion and Textiles degree.
Her stock is sourced from all over Europe and is beautifully photographed on her very classy website. Shamina has a real eye for texture and print, and I was really impressed with the range. As someone who normally wears earlier vintage, I started to fall in love with some of her fantastic 80’s stock.
The party was held in the Vecchio pop-up shop which ran for two weeks in the unusual location of Mile End Road in East London. The pop-up was a real success bringing a bit of vintage glamour to an area filled with takeaways and chicken shops.
I was so impressed with the shop, being a former visual merchandiser myself, shop displays and branding are really important to me and the shop looked fabulous. I loved the lovely boxes and bags emblazoned with the Vecchio Vintage logo and it’s clear that Shamina has created a strong brand.
I bought a couple of great vintage bit’s while I was there which I will be sharing with you very soon.
Go and check out the website for cool curated vintage and lot’s of gorgeous look-book images to inspire some fabulous outfits.
