Two things I can never resist – A new Barry M release and a glitter nail polish. Last month I shared My Barry M Collection with you and now I have added 3 new additions. The Glitterati is a new collection of 6 bright sparkly glitter shades and I adore them all. Luckily I found them in Superdrug on 3 for 2 and managed to pick up my threes favourite shades.
At £3.99 each they’re a great price, and the choice of colours is absolutely fantastic, and the glitter itself is multi tonal and iridescent so it really sparkles when it catches the light. The glitter is also super fine so I builds nicest with a few coats.
The colours I chose were; a pretty girlie pink called Starlet which wouldn’t look out of place on Barbie, a beautiful aqua mermaid blue called Catwalk Queen, and a pinky purple shade called Socialite. I’ve worn both the pink and the blue and absolutely love both the shades, they’re definitely not subtle but I like to have fun with my nail polish choices, so for me the brighter the better.
My favourite shade of the 3 is definitely Starlet, I think if you’re going to go for a super shimmery glitter shade you might as well go for the girliest colour and this one is just so fun. I totally forgot to take a picture when I was wearing the pink but I did manage to snap the blue.
I used to complain a lot about how long Barry M polishes took to dry, but this one is actually pretty speedy. You do need to apply quite a few layers to get a really intense glittery effect but I still found it dried in about 3 minutes. I was really impressed with this as I really did put a lot on.
The one downside of these glitters is that they are really really hard to get off. It took me absolutely ages to remove all traces of glitter. The second time round I applied a generous layer of base coat and this helped a bit. But I wouldn’t leave removing it to the last minute!
I would definitely recommend these fun polishes, especially with the Christmas party season approaching. There are a few new Barry M new releases at the moment and I really don’t think I cab resist picking them up too, so watch this space for more reviews!
