We may still be enjoying gorgeous hot days here in England but Autumn is just around the corner. This time of year I start to get excited about buying new boots and wearing woolly sweaters, drinking hot drinks and snuggling up under a blanket on my sofa as the nights draw in.
Autumn is also a great time for fashion, my summer dresses will go into hibernation and it’s time for darker warmer colours and thick tights. As a dress fanatic I’ve been trying to make a little more effort to wear skirts and tops this year and I’ve been on the look out for some new everyday skirts that will last me into the colder months. I’ve also turned to the high street rather than vintage as I want stuff that will be durable for everyday wear and running around with the kids. After a recent accident where I ended up ripping a 1950s dress I’m going to be a bit more cautious with wearing vintage!
So here are a few of my autumn skirt picks. They are all knee-length and quite full as that’s my favourite style and I just don’t suit anything shorter or tighter! I’m loving all the different colours, materials and textures here…

September 9, 2014 at 9:24 pmGoodness, these are wonderfully lovely! I’m so glad that long/full skirt season is upon us again. I love these few brief, wonderful weeks when you can wear them sans heavy tights and snow boots.

September 10, 2014 at 11:57 pmI love it when styles that I like are actually on trend. It’s really nice to be able to walk into a store and be able to find something that I’d want to wear. Good news is, it looks like midi skirts and gingham are still on trend for spring too.

September 12, 2014 at 5:51 pmI know I adore both gingham and midi skirts, they are so classic and go with absolutely everything. Let’s hope they stay put for a few more seasons so I can stock up!
